XI Russian Folklore Festival "Village - the Soul of Russia" celebrates traditional culture with music, dance and crafts. Every year the festival takes place in one of the districts of the Vologda Region. The municipality obtains this right on a competitive basis. In 2026 Russian Folklore Festival "Village - the Soul of Russia" will be held in Vologda District.
The Russian Folklore Festival "Village - the Soul of Russia" is aimed at preserving cultural identity, creating conditions for the development of traditional folk culture and promoting the cultural and historical heritage of the Vologda Region and various regions of Russia.
The creative project celebrates and promotes traditional Russian culture, including music, dance, crafts, games and customs, by bringing together folk groups, artisans, and researchers from across Russia.
The festival program includes concerts by folklore groups, the work of ethnocultural interactive platforms, folk games, folklore theatre performances, and a fair of handicrafts.
