The Days of the Vologda Region in the Republic of Belarus is an important platform for presenting the region's economic, tourism, cultural and educational potential.
In March 2025 Vologda Region Governor Georgy Filimonov and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus to the Russian Federation Alexander Rogozhnik discussed the organization of an official visit of the delegation from the Vologda Region to Belarus.
"Belarus is our long–standing and reliable partner. The first agreement on cooperation between the Vologda Region and Belarus was signed 27 years ago. We are eager to take another step towards strengthening our long-standing cooperation. The forum aims to expand the boundaries of joint projects, including educational recreation in the Vologda Region. We are going to present trade, economic, investment and tourism potential of our region. We will show the Vologda Region in all its glory, treat visitors to Vologda-made products and introduce guests to our rich cultural and historical heritage," said Vologda Region Governor Georgy Filimonov.
Belarus is our brotherly country, with which we are connected not only by economic and trade links, but also by a common history, culture and traditions.
As part of the business program, representatives of the Vologda Region and the Republic of Belarus will discuss current tasks and identify the main guidelines for further cooperation.
The parties are to sign a program for the development of cooperation between the Vologda Region Government and the Government of the Republic of Belarus for 2026-2028.
The business agenda also includes a meeting between Vologda Region Governor Georgy Filimonov and President of the Republic of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko. The head of the region will also meet with Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Belarus Viktor Karankevich, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to the Republic of Belarus Boris Gryzlov and Minister of Sports and Tourism of the Republic of Belarus Sergey Kovalchuk.
