The International competition for performers on wind and percussion instruments "Northern Rhapsody" opened in Cherepovets on April 26 and it will last until April 29.

The competition has been held on the basis of the Cherepovets School of Arts and Crafts named after V.V. Vereshchagin since 2016.

The founder of the competition is the Ministry of Culture of the Vologda Region. The competition is supported by the Government of the Vologda Region and the City Hall of Cherepovets.

This year the music competition gathered about 2000 musicians from Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, China and New Zealand -700 soloists, 72 ensembles and 22 orchestras.

The competition for performers on wind and percussion instruments "Northern Rhapsody" gathers musicians up to 35 years old that demonstrated their skills playing the flute, oboe, clarinet, bassoon, saxophone, French horn, trumpet, tenor trombone, tuba and percussion instruments.

The musical contest allows participants to demonstrate their talent and skill, and also to exchange professional experience.
