The Gavrilin International Competition is held in the Vologda Region every three years. This is one of the most prestigious competitions in the country for young musicians from 9 to 25 years old.

The festival is named after Valery Gavrilin, the great Russian composer, People's artist of Russia who was born in Vologda.

This year applications have been submitted by more than 170 participants from 24 regions of Russia, including the Donetsk and Lugansk People's Republics. 23 participants will represent such foreign countries as China, Turkey, Costa Rica and Belarus.

The competition is held in several different categories including piano, violin, cello, academic singing, accordion, pop music and musical composition.

The International Music Competition is held on the basis of the Vologda Regional College of Arts. It is a real music forum where the jury members give master classes and share experience.
