The International Forum "Wood in Architecture" will be held in Vologda for the first time on July 18-20, 2024.
An agreement on holding the International Forum "Wood in Architecture" in Vologda was signed within the framework of XXХI International Festival Zodchestvo 2023 held at Gostiny Dvor, Moscow from October 31 until November 02, 2023. This year, for the first time in history, the Wood in Architecture forum will not be held in Moscow.
Vologda is a perfect place to host this forum. There are more than 250 cultural heritage sites in Vologda, 112 of them are objects of wooden architecture with unique northern architecture.
It will be a large-scale event. Over 100 architects participating in the business and exhibition program are expected to arrive from Moscow alone. A number of CIS countries and foreign states have already expressed their desire to participate in the forum.
Timber industry experts and representatives of government agencies will take part in lectures, panel discussions, round tables and presentations.
Also on the agenda of the forum are issues related to key guidelines for the industry development and the introduction of innovations into it, priorities for technological modernization and updating of technical regulation of wooden construction. In addition, the participants of the business program will share their views on the restoration, preservation and use of monuments of wooden architecture in historical cities of Russia and discuss the training of qualified personnel for the development of the industry.
