On November 29th Yuri Bashmet, a Russian conductor, violinist, and violist and the Moscow Soloists will give a concert at IX International Gavrilin Festival, Vologda City.

The performance of Maestro Yuri Bashmet and his chamber orchestra Moscow Soloists will be an extraordinary event for Vologda.

Formed by Yuri Bashmet from among graduates of the Moscow Conservatoire, the Moscow Soloists Chamber Orchestra made its debut in 1992. The orchestra has performed both in Russia and at many prestigious music venues worldwide. In 2008, the orchestra won a Best Small Ensemble Performance Grammy for its recording of music by Stravinsky and Prokofiev.

The festival is named after Valery Gavrilin, the great Russian composer, People's artist of Russia who was born in Vologda.

The International Gavrilin Festival is organized with an active backing of the Vologda Oblast Government and the Department of Culture and Tourism of the Vologda Oblast. The main objective of the event is to reveal new talents and to perpetuate the memory of Valery Gavrilin.

IX International Gavrilin Festival will be held in Vologda on October 19 through November 29, 2022.

Musicians from Russian regions and foreign countries will participate in it. It is planned to organize numerous concerts, master classes and other festival events.
