The Russian Hunting festival was held for the first time on September 17 on the territory of the Museum of Architecture and Ethnography Semyonkovo. Governor Oleg Kuvshinnikov said that it will be held in the Vologda Region annually.
The main objective of the festival is to tell tourists and residents of the region about the ancient traditions of the Russian North, to attract tourists to the Vologda Region and to expand the tourist flow to our region.
More than 1,500 Vologda residents and guests of the city gathered to watch master classes of hunters. During the festival, professional hunters showed the work of greyhounds and demonstrated ways to lure birds and wild animals.
According to Governor Oleg Kuvshinnikov, the Vologda Region has considerable hunting resources. The hunting area of over 14 million ha is the largest in the northwestern part of Russia.
“We invite wildlife photographers and other nature lovers to come to the Vologda Region and get acquainted with hunting traditions. Hunters will give you tips to capture great hunting memories on camera. You can just enjoy the beauty of nature and the animals that live in their nature environment and watch their behavior. This festival will allow everyone to learn more about the natural resources of our region,” summed up Oleg Kuvshinnikov.
