Days of VOICES, a special programme of Festival VOICES (VOlogda Independent Cinema from European Screens) was held in Vologda on August 25-28. It included 30 full-length and short films. The event was supported by the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation.
The Days of VOICES, which became a long-awaited event for Vologda’s residents and its guests came to an end. During the four days of the festival the audience managed to see about 30 movies by Russian and foreign directors, talked with directors and actors, visited workshops and exhibitions.
Despite the fact that the Days of VOICES were not a full-fledged festival, which traditionally took place in Vologda from 2010 to 2018, the organizers managed to suggest a rich and interesting program. This time there was neither jury nor a competition program, neither a red carpet nor a parade of movie stars, but the Debuts program and the audience voting became the highlights of the Days of VOICES.
The events of the Days of VOICES were held at five venues - the Lenkom and Salyut cinemas, the Vologda Regional Universal Library, the Actor's House and the Consistory Courtyard of the Vologda Kremlin.
The Closing Ceremony was held at the Consistory Courtyard of the Vologda Kremlin. The documentary film “Wasily Kandinsky in the Russian North” directed by Alexander Miroshnichenko was shown to the audience. After it, the audience had a chance to communicate with its director Alexander Miroshnichenko and producer Marta Nikojan.
