Vologda will host IV International Lace Festival VITA LACE on July 14-17. For designers, artists, lace makers, collectors and connoisseurs of this fine art, VITA LACE is one of the most anticipated events.
333 participants from the regions of Russia (Udmurtia, Perm Krai, Kirov Oblast, Nizhny Novgorod Oblast, Lipetsk Oblast, Oryol Oblast, Kurgan Oblast, Perm Krai, Chelyabinsk Oblast, Samara Oblast, Kirov Oblast, Novosibirsk Oblast), as well as from the DPR, Estonia, Uzbekistan and Poland have registered for the festival.
IV International Lace Festival VITA LACE will be devoted to preservation and development of handicrafts as part of the original culture and heritage of the nation. The topic is especially important taking into account the fact that 2022 has been declared by the President of Russia the Year of Cultural Heritage of the Peoples of Russia.
Vologda lace is a type of Russian lace woven on bobbins (wooden rods). Vologda lace making as a trade has existed since the beginning of the 19th century. Vologda lace-makers have won many top awards, major gold medals and certificates at various international expos and fairs.
The biggest lace making master class event will be held within the framework of the festival. Over 200 lace making masters from various regions of Russia and several foreign nations will participate in the event that will be held by the walls of the Vologda Kremlin.
A rich business program will be organized during the festival. Leading industry experts will offer lectures, workshops and master classes for the professional community.
