The 13th International film project "Rendezvous with Russia” ended its five-day run in Vologda City on Sunday, December 4. The event's prestigious awards were also revealed at the closing ceremony.

The international film project features Russian and foreign documentaries, professional and amateur videos dedicated to the Russian history, culture, nature, places of interest, famous personalities and young talents.

The goal of this project is to promote Russia’s tourism potential locally and worldwide, and build Russia’s image as a country congenial to tourism and recreation.

The festival is held with the support of the Presidential Foundation for Cultural Initiatives and the Vologda City Administration.

Since 2017, the forum has been held in the Vologda Region. In 2022, forty five Russian regions took part in the international film project "Rendezvous with Russia". Thirty eight documentary films were presented in four competitive categories of the festival. Forty eight videos and ten films were shown in seven categories of tourist works.

The event also included panel discussions where topical issues related to the film industry and tourism were discussed. This year's festival attracted over 800 spectators.

"Rendezvous with Russia” has brought together those who love movies and travel," said Vladimir Osipovsky, head of the Department of Culture and Tourism of the Vologda Region. Once again, Vologda has become a meeting place for directors, cameramen, producers and, of course, spectators. We are grateful to the organizers of the festival who once again chose Vologda to host the forum, making it the capital of documentary cinema. Thanks to the festival, the audience made visual trips to different parts of our country, and I'm sure that after watching these films, some people will plan a new tourist route for themselves."
