The festival was aimed at popularization of folk arts and handicrafts among the younger generation. It was arranged with an active backing of the Vologda City Administration and a Handicrafts Centre “Reznoi Palisad (Carved Fence)”.
Every day of the festival was devoted to various programs that revealed to the audience the secrets of one of the folk crafts in the heart of Vologda - Kremlin Square.
169 artisans from twenty Russian regions and five foreign countries showed off their virtuosity in lace-making, in wood engraving, wood carving and painting, smithery, pottery and ceramics.
There were master-classes, exhibitions in the open air, concert programs for children and adults, new art objects were opened.
