On April 3, the Vologda Kremlin opened an exhibition dedicated to the 60th anniversary of the first manned flight into space. It celebrates cosmonaut Gagarin's friendship with Cuba.
The exhibition "First: Gagarin and Cuba" features over 40 unique photographs of Yuri Gagarin's meetings with Revolution leaders of Cuba and ordinary Cuban citizens, many of them were taken during Gagarin's visits to Cuba. The exhibition displays close links that Soviet cosmonaut Yuri Gagarin maintained with Cuba.
The opening of the photo exhibition was attended by Vologda Region Governor Oleg Kuvshinnikov, president of the Russian Society of Friendship with Cuba Alexei Lavrov, and other officials.
The exhibition is organized jointly with the Russian Society of Friendship with Cuba. It will tour nearly 30 Russian cities.
The photo exhibition "The First: Gagarin and Cuba" will work at the Vologda State Museum-Preserve from April 3 to May 31.
