The international festival of arts and crafts "Finno-Ugric Transit" was held in Saransk, the capital of Mordovia on October 14-17.
Participants from Karelia, Komi, Mordovia, Udmurtia, Komi-Permyak Okrug, Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug, Leningrad Region, Vologda Region and Moscow gathered in Saransk. Leading experts of culture and famous artists from Finland, Estonia and Hungary joined the festival in the "online" format.
Lace-makers from Vologda told about the traditions of Vologda lace weaving and organized a display of lace masterpieces.
The international festival "Finno-Ugric Transit" is a long-term project implemented by the branch of State Russian House of folk crafts named after V. Polenov "The Finno-Ugric Cultural Centre of the Russian Federation".
In the framework of every two year long transit cycle, concerts are held in different regions of the Russian Federation, the series of concerts ending with a gala concert.
