Vologda's cinemas, theaters and aqua parks are reopening after being closed for several months to help slow the spread of the coronavirus.

The Vologda Region Government said cinemas, theaters and aqua parks could open their doors again from August 27th , in compliance with sanitary safety measures.

Cinemas and theaters that reopen will be subject to a strict set of rules, including screenings being limited to 50% capacity.

Customers' temperatures will be taken, and masks will have to be worn at all times by both cinema and theater goers and staff.

“We continue to work on lifting restrictions, as the situation in the region is stable and under control," the Governor said at a meeting of the Emergency Headquarters for Infection Control. Outdoor sports facilities have been open in the Vologda Region since 14 July because there is less risk of catching coronavirus in the fresh air.

Aqua parks are reopening in the Vologda Region from 27 August, for the first time since the beginning of lockdown.

Sports centers will operate at 25% capacity to allow for appropriate social distancing between customers, for whom face masks are mandatory. The attendance capacity of stadiums has been raised to 50%.

As of August 26, the Vologda Region reported 3212 cases of coronavirus.
