On July 17th, a new tourist route was presented at the Cherepovets metallurgical plant. The Metallurgy Industry Museum at Severstal's site in Cherepovets is a must for people of any age who want to learn about one of the most historic, fundamental and important global industries.

The first Russian museum of metallurgical production emerged in Cherepovets in July 2015. It is extremely modern with high level of interactivity and a huge amount of information available in different and digestible forms. Special attention is paid to moving objects and interactive exhibitions.

The exposition is divided into several zones. Seven thematic exhibition halls, each of them with interactive elements allow visitors to become metallurgists for some time, to produce iron ore or smelting steel. The first Russian metallurgical museum covers the territory of 1400 square meters.

The mission of the Museum of Metallurgy in Cherepovets is to present the legacy of iron culture to the wider audience. The permanent exhibition of the museum unveils the mystery of producing and manufacturing iron, the functioning models and hot rolling mill 2000 ensure visitors’ experience. The metal that is produced here is used in the automotive industry, mechanical engineering, fuel and energy and other industries.

There is a glazed viewing area at the plant that offers a panoramic view of one of the production stages. Namely in this place tourists can feel the power of the Russian iron metallurgy and mining.
