The International competition for performers on wind and percussion "Northern Rhapsody" gathered 260 soloists, 28 ensembles and 18 orchestras from Russia, China, Korea, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan and Ukraine.
IV International competition for performers on wind and percussion will last in Cherepovets till April 17 th.
The competition aims to identify the most talented and artistic young musicians and to open opportunities for further professional career. In addition, it will contribute to the strengthening and expansion of international contacts.
Young musicians are able to demonstrate their skills playing the flute, oboe, clarinet, bassoon, saxophone, French horn, trumpet, tenor trombone, tuba and percussion instruments.
The musical contest allows participants not only to demonstrate their talent and skill, but also to exchange professional experience, to listen to the advice of prominent artists during master classes and round table discussions.
Competitive performances is evaluated by international competent jury consisted of well-known Russian and foreign specialists.
The chairman of the jury is the horn player and conductor Dariusz Mikulski (Poland). Dariusz Mikulski participates in various chamber music ensembles and regularly works with renowned musicians. As a soloist he has performed with orchestras of international standing.
Dr. Dariusz Mikulski is known as the founder and director of the symphony orchestra BIG PHILHARMONIE Poland. Mikulski is founder and Managing Director of CONCORNO Cultural Management in Stuttgart. He leads the Horn class of the Music Academy in Lodz, International Mozart Akademie Wien-Berlin, Polish Chamber Symphonic Orchestra as well as the European Young Opera with many important projects home and abroad.
Gabor Varga (Hungary), a co-chairman of the jury, he is holding the position of International Chair of Clarinet at the RNCM, Manchester, UK.
