Now in its 15th year, the Vologda Jazz & Blues Festival is one of the most important summer jazz festivals, whereby it combines wide audience appeal with quality and artistic integrity, hosting the most important jazz icons over the past 15 years.
Running over 6 days in Vologda’s historical setting, it will raise the profile of jazz locally through the events of the festival. The festival presents the myriad of styles which constitute the contemporary jazz world. It is a festival of contrasts and coherence, featuring the cutting-edge and the avant-garde, the mainstream, and also historical jazz icons without deviating from the ‘jazz’ element.
The Festival takes place in concert halls, in the heart of Vologda – the Vologda Kremlin and throughout the streets of Vologda as the city comes alive with the spirit of jazz.
Each festival program aims to appeal to young and old, to enthusiasts and the uninitiated, to encourage as many people as possible to experience the very personal impact that jazz can have on its listener.
On July 23-27 the International Jazz & Blues Festival in Vologda will host numerous performances and shows featuring some of the best musicians and artists from Russia and around the world.
Such world-class international musicians as fabulous JD Walter (USA), American treasure Kenny Wayne, popular Russian singer Tina Kuznetsova and Russian saxophone legend Igor Butman will come to the ancient Russian city of Vologda. Vologda's music lovers will get a chance to experience the unique sounds of the renowned jazz and blues artists.
