Vologda will become home to XIV International drama festival «Voices of History» from June 19 throughout June 27, 2018.
Applications from Russian and foreign theatre groups were accepted until March 15. Theaters from Russia, Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, Belarus and Kazakhstan applied for participation in XIV International Drama Festival Voices of History.
The festival «Voices of History», which emerged in 1991 as a review of the performances of professional theatres in the historical and architectural ensemble of the unique environment of the Vologda Kremlin has long been a hallmark of the Vologda Region, a favourite festival of all theatre-goers. In 2003 it received an international status. The performances are shown in the open air, in the historical setting of the Vologda Kremlin, which is a point of interest itself.
This year the Voices of History will be held not only in the historical setting of the Vologda Kremlin, which is a point of interest itself, but also in the Kirillo-Belozersky Monastery and the Museum of history and ethnography «Manor of the Galskoys» in Cherepovets City.
Puppet theaters from Russia and foreign countries are to take part in the festival «Voices of History». The idea to attract puppet shows performed by Russian and world renowned puppeteers at the festival «Voices of History» was voiced during the meeting of Deputy Governor Oleg Vasiliev with the organizers of the international festival.
