Kirillov is in the list of Russia's small cities that will be most popular destinations for spring vacationing in May, according to a study conducted by Tvil.ru agency.
The study, which searched for the most popular and affordable options for tourists, compiled its results based on the number of hotel reservations from April 29 till May 10, 2018.
The top five of the rating includes such Russian most popular cities as Sudak (Crimea), Suzdal (Vladimir Region), Olonets (Republic of Karelia), Ostashkov (Tver Region) and Kirillov (Vologda Region).
Kirillov has much to offer the discerning visitor. The city appeared as a settlement attached to the Kirillo-Belozersky monastery founded in 1397 and called after the name of monk Cyril Belozersky. The majestic architectural ensemble of the Kirillo-Belozersky monastery is one of the largest in Russia. Numerous lakes, islands, steep slopes of lake basins, covered with forest, forest lakes - all these in combination with hilly relief make the area wonderful.
