The Museums of the Russian North is a major culture grant programme of Severstal, focused on supporting the development of arts museums in the north of Russia.
In 2018 the organizers of the grant programme received 34 applications for travel grants from the museum communities of nine Russian regions located in the north of the country. The winners from the Vologda Region are: Kirillo-Belozersky Museum-Preserve, Cherepovets Metallurgy Museum.
The aim of the program is to enable museums to develop, enhancing their role as centres of cultural life, and lay foundations for a new social and cultural environment in the Russian regions.
