The Russian-Greek Tourism Forum in Moscow is organized by the RF Minister of Culture and is arranged within the framework of «Greece-Russia Year of Tourism». The forum aims to establish a strong connection between the two countries in order to increase mutual tourist flow.
Representatives of nine administrative regions of Greece and thirty Russian regions arrived in Moscow to participate in a Greek-Russian Tourism Forum.
Greece's ambassador to Russia Andreas Friganas welcomed the participants of the forum stressing that the two nations share a firm foundation for cooperation – common values and orthodox culture. Russia has much to offer the discerning visitor. With a unique cultural and historical heritage, the country, abundant with architectural monuments and arts, has great tourism potential.
The forum is attended by a variety of speakers including VIP guests and other officials who share their in-depth knowledge. During the event, presentations of Russian and Greek regions will take place. The Head of the Department of Culture and Tourism of the Vologda Oblast presented tourism opportunities of the Vologda Region and focused on a tourism project «Silver Necklace of Russia».
Silver Necklace of Russia is a unique tourism product consisting of chain of routes crossing ancient Russian cities with unique historical and cultural heritage of Northwest Russia. The Silver Necklace of Russia is a tourist project across 11 regions of the Russian Federation.
Silver Necklace consists of a set of routes that combine historical cities and territories, regional centers, large population points of the Northwestern Federal District, which has the unique monuments of history, culture and nature included in the UNESCO World Heritage List.
