The exhibition is organized by the Vologda State Museum-Preserve, the Russian Embassy in Germany and the representative office of the Russian Federal Agency for cooperation.
The exhibition of Vologda laces opened on September 19th in the Russian House of Science and Culture, the largest foreign cultural institute in the world that has the world's largest building among the similar cultural and scientific missions.
The Russian House of Science and Culture aims to show Russian customs, traditions and scientific achievements in Germany and to contribute to a close friendship between Russia and Germany.
Vologda lace has won deserved fame and world-wide recognition for its high artistic value, rich ornament, and excellent workmanship.
The exhibition of delicate Vologda lace under the heading “Vologda Lace - Treasure of Russian North” (over 100 exhibits all in all) will be attended by a wide audience of collectors, historians, lace-makers and lace lovers from Germany, France, Switzerland, Denmark and other countries.
The opening ceremony was visited by head of representative office of Rossotrudnichestvo - the Russian House of Science and Culture Alexander G. Anisimov , Deputy Governor of the Vologda Oblast Oleg Vasiliev, top leadership of the Vologda State Museum-Preserve and the Vologda lace Museum.
The exhibition of Vologda’s lace in the Russian House of Science and Culture situated in Berlin will last till October 8.
