The Vologda Region continues to attract tourists both from Russia’s regions and abroad. The region appears at the top of tourist rankings, and continues to develop its infrastructure and host large historic festivals.
According to National events calendar EventsInRussia.com, the region is in the list of the 10 most popular tourist destinations among Russian regions.
The ranking was based on criteria such as patriotic festivals and historical reconstructions held on the territory of the regions. Unique cultural and historical features also played an important role.
The number of people who want to visit Vologda is growing. The National events calendar EventsInRussia.com listed the Vologda Region among the top 10 regions along with the Moscow Oblast, Leningrad Oblast, Pskov Oblast, Chelyabinsk Oblast, Saint Petersburg, Lipetsk Oblast, Republic of Tatarstan, Penza Oblast and Kaliningrad Oblast.
