Veliky Ustyug is in the list of Russia's small cities that will be most popular destinations for winter vacationing.
The study, which searched for the most popular and affordable options for tourists, compiled its results based on the number of hotel reservations for winer holidays on December 30th – January 9th.
The top ten of the rating includes such Russian most popular cities as Suzdal, Zvenigorod, Ostashkov, Olonets, Pereslavl-Zalessky, Toksovo, Uglich, Kalyazin, Golodets and Veliky Ustyug.
Veliky Ustyug has much to offer the discerning visitor. It has a remarkable place on Russia's tourist map. With a unique cultural and historical heritage, the city, abundant with architectural monuments and arts, has great tourism potential. The official residence of Ded Moroz (Russia's Santa Claus) in Russia is the town of Veliky Ustyug. It is in traditional «terem» style. The residence welcomes visitors all year around, but naturally it is especially popular during the New Year's holiday season.
