Natives of Vologda Region applauded standup to the musicians of the acoustic Gonzalo Bergara Quartet and didn’t want them leave the stage after all three concerts.

Over 8 hundred people came to listen to American jazz to the Vologda State Museum-Reserve, about 4 hundred – to the Kirillo-Belozerski Museum-Reserve and over 3 hundred – to the Museum “Semenkovo”

“Participants of the group made up a new program for each concert sites. Of course, some songs were repeated, but in the whole musical repertory of each of three days was special”, - mentioned Ekaterina Mazilova, festival curator in the Vologda State Museum-Reserve.

Gypsy jazz is a new musical style on the festival for Vologda natives . In previous years they got acquainted with bluegrass, conjunto, blues and zydeco. Music of The Gonzalo Bergara Quartet was highly inspired by Django Reinhardt, the Father of gypsy jazz music. The group leader Gonzalo Bergara pointed, that some songs from the last album were inspired by Jimmy Hendrix.

To remember Vologda American musicians took back home presents: books and souvenirs with Vologda sights, and a big concert banner from the Vologda Museum. And left their great music in return.
