Hermann Alexander Beyeler, owner of the Gallery “Beyeler Collection Foundation” in Pratteln (Canton Basel-Land, Switzerland) presented historical rarities to the Vologda State Museum-Preserve. These are copies of portraits of Alexander III, Emperor of Russia, plates and dishes with his majesty's name deciphered on the items, a posthumous mask of his face and a photo album.
Mr. Beyeler observed that Vologda is a true Russian city, that is why he chose the city to keep these treasures and moreover, he has Russian blood in his veins.
