The long awaited exhibition has been opened in Vologda. The European lace collection owned by sisters Marianne Stang and Anne Wienands is represented in the Lace Museum till the middle of November.
The exhibition «Ladies in Lace» was opened on April, 13. It shows delicate lace hats, night caps, fans, collars and shawls, more over lace patterns of XVII and XVIII centuries, needle and bobbin lace from France, Belgium, Great Britain, Spain and Malta.
The name of the exhibition isn’t chosen occasionally: two sisters are literally surrounded by lace for more than 30 years. Anne and Marianne not only collect and study lace, they lecture about the history of lace, teach lacemaking.
As collectors notice, organization of such international project demanded diligent work and took about a year and a half. All exhibit items are charming with their unique design and motives.
During the work of the exhibition «Ladies in Lace» there will be offered subject excursions and a course of lectures «Fashion Meetings» from modern designers.
