The exhibition under the heading “Saint Nicholas the Wonderworker - mystery, figment and truth” opened in the Winckelmann-Museum in Stendal, Germany. The Winckelmann-Museum in Stendal is showing a temporary exhibition of icons of St. Nicholas, items from the collections of the Vologda State Museum-Preserve, the Kirillo-Belozersky Monastery, Veliky Ustyug Museum, the Museum of Dionisy's frescoes in Ferapontovo and Tot’ma museum association.

For the first time this exhibition was on display in the Liechtenstein National Museum in Vaduz in 2014. The exhibition in the capital of Liechtenstein, Vaduz, was part of the official celebrations aiming to mark the 20th anniversary of the establishment of Russian-Liechtenstein diplomatic relations. It is consisted of five parts. One part of it was devoted to Saint Nicholas the Wonderworker, traditions and customs associated with his name. It was entirely based on photographs of the relics preserved in the museums of the Vologda Region.

Members of the Liechtenstein Government, representatives of the Russian Orthodox Church, employees of the Russian Embassy in Switzerland, Russians living in Liechtenstein participated in the opening ceremony of the exhibition in Vaduz.

The exhibition will be open at the Winckelmann-Museum in Stendal to January 8th, 2017.
