The 8th Theatrical and Concert Project «Summer in the Kremlin» will be opened with a piano recital in the Vologda Regional Philharmonic Society named after V.A. Gavrilin on June 3. Moscow musician Ruvim Ostrovsky will perform for residents and guests of the city. His program will mark the 175th anniversary of the birth of Pyotr Tchaikovsky.
Other events of the festival will take place in the Consistorial yard of the Vologda Kremlin during a month and a half. The State Song and Dance Ensemble «Russian North» will perform there on June 9. Besides, you will be able to enjoy concerts of some creative groups of the Philharmonic Society: the ensemble «Guest», the group of Vladimir Preobrazhensky, the male chamber choir under the direction of Albert Mishin, «Grand Prix», the show group «Fedorino Gore», the Governor Orchestra of Russian Folk Instruments under the direction of Russia’s Honoured Artist Galina Perevoznikova.
The State Chamber Orchestra of Jazz Music named after Oleg Lundstrem that is inscribed into the Russian Guinness Book of Records as the most «long-playing» big band in the world will give a concert in the Vologda Kremlin. The Theatre of Russian Ballet «Talarium et Lux» will present the ballet «The Nutcracker» on July 1 and 2. Spectators will be able to see a real light show with multimedia scenery.
«Summer in the Kremlin» will be concluded with a concert of the choir of the Mariinsky Theater from St. Petersburg on July 21. It is interesting that the musicians will perform pop compositions.
