From July 3th to 6th, 2015 the city of Vologda will host the VOICES Festival.
VOICES Festival is supported by the Vologda Oblast Governor, Vologda City administration, and the RF Ministry of Culture. The highlight of the festival is a cinematographic practice in style based on the production of short-length films by young directors on a predefined subject.
For the first time in Vologda and probably for the first time in Russia outside Moscow and St. Petersburg, a film festival gathers European cinema lovers and takes an investigative look at young directors and their latest creations.
The Festival combines both competition and directors' workshops. The competition includes a selection of first and second full-length fictions by European directors. The festival also features master-classes, round-table discussions and the production of short-length films on-site by European film professionals on a predefined subject. Such round-table discussions are open to the public.
Same as in 5 previous years, VOICES-2015 will welcome the newest European movies and popular foreign and Russian filmmakers. The competition will gather 8 first and second feature films from all across Europe. One of the most important guests of the 6th edition of VOICES will be Krzysztof Zanussi, a Polish film and theatre director, producer and screenwriter. He will present his new film "Obce cialo” and a personally-selected Polish cinema program.
A film critic and journalist Sergey Sholohov and a famous director Nana Dzhordzhadze will be among the VOICES international jury. Other names of the members and the President of Jury will be announced soon. The event program will be announced in June.
