The solemn ceremony of appellation of the Children’s Art School of Vologda was held on October 28. Representatives of the city authorities, employees of the Vologda Regional Picture Gallery, the public and relatives of the famous artist participated in it.
Vladimir Korbakov is a member of the Russian Academy of Arts. The pictures of the talented Vologda’s artist can be seen in the Tretyakov Gallery, the State Historical Museum, and the Central Museum of the Great Patriotic War in Moscow.
«The date when our educational institution was named after Vladimir Korbakov coincided with the second anniversary of his death. Vladimir Korbakov is the only artist who was awarded the title of the honoured freeman of Vologda. He did a lot for our school and pupils. The legendary artist delivered various master-classes», shared Natalya Kulizhnikova, principal of the Children’s Art School of Vologda.
